The role of the artists in the Cromwellian myth

Oliver Cromwell was born in Huntingdon, England, on April twenty-five, 1599 and was known as a radical puritan. During the English Civil Wars he served as a general on the parliamentarian side. From 1653 to 1658, he served as lord protector of England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. He died on September 3, 1659, in London. He was one of the most controversial historical characters in the Irish history. He was hated by the royalists for his role in the execution of Charles I, and unpopular with many parliamentarians who disliked the tyranny of the army. Moreover his destruction of Scottish and Irish Campaign has blackened his reputation. But on the other side some people considered him as a hero because of his victory in several battles and for the abolition of monarchy.
In this quiz, we will be more interested to the vision of Cromwell given by artists to the society.
